Botanic Garden
Across the tracks from the zoo, the garden is laid out as a series of rooms — formal beds and clipped hedges near the entrance, giving way to woodland plantings, a pollinator meadow, and a shaded fern walk along the creek. A working windmill anchors the north end above the tulip fields, which peak in spring and hand the same beds over to summer annuals through September. The glasshouse stays warm year-round, so there's something in bloom no matter when you visit.
The Zoo Train stops at the garden gate, or it's a ten-minute walk over the footbridge.
